Milky Way
The milky way is a band of stars forming the faint path of light which can be seen stretching across the sky at night. If you have ever looked at the sky on a clear night, then you have probably seen a milky-looking path of light across the sky. This is the Milky Way.
It is actually the light from many billions of stars, most of which are too far away to be seen as separate stars. The huge cluster of stars make us the Milky Way galaxy, the star system in which our sun has its piece. If we could see all of it at once, the Milky Way galaxy appear to be a giant spiraling disk with most of the stars in the center and our sun near the edge.
When we look at the Milky Way, we are looking toward the deepest and densest part of the galaxy. You see so many stars that they look like a misty band of light stretching from one end at of the sky to the other.
What do you think how many stars are there in the Milky Way? Some astronomers think that maybe as many as 100 billion stars.

"Mini Shoe" maker aims for world record
“At a time when people like us are yet to get the actual benefits granted to us by the government, I am not very sure of when I could get there. But, I am determined not to give it up,” he says.
A shoemaker from Shivajinagar, he was forced to take up the job with no other option. His family went through acute financial crisis when his father died. And Shivshankar had to get into work instead of school. After working as a coolie and an assistant in shops and with cobblers, he finally got into the art of shoemaking. He set up a footwear shop 10 years ago. This small 6 by 3 feet shop at Davis Road cross cost him close to Rs 10,000 then.
An avid radio listener, he never missed the series on achievers. Inspired by many of these stories, he started making these small shoes, six months back. “Initially it was just an experiment. But I took it seriously when I had a few foreigners who came to me asking to give them for Rs 150, seeing the shoes on display. I then realized the worth of my passion,” he explained.
He had made many, also lost a few to admirers but managed to preserve at least 40 pairs — Pencil heels, floaters, shoes and even gumboots, all of them within the size range of one inch (3 cm) to two and a half inch (5 cm) for men, women and even saints — many of them to fit just your finger tips. But, it takes him more than a hour making each pair. He aims to make at least a 100 such pairs, covering all possible models. With such a passion, he has also been able to utilise much of the waste generated out of making the bigger footwear.
With a daily earning of Rs 150-200, or even less at times, and three children in their higher studies along with the high cost of living in Bangalore, the only hitch that worries him is ‘money’. “Even to attempt a Limca book of records, I need to travel to Delhi and even stay there temporarily till I succeed,” he says. Even before his record attempts, he sure has made an impressive record having given his three children (one son and two daughters) good education so far. Having suffered poverty and being illiterate, he wants his kids to be far away from the plight of a poor shoemaker.

Toyota, Daihatsu eye $5,000 car for India
Toyota Motor Corp and its mini vehicle unit Daihatsu Motor Co are developning a new car for India that will likely sell for around $5,000, a newspaper reported on Wednesday. Toyota, the world's biggest automaker, has lagged rivals in the race to win over India's cost-conscious consumers -
a battle that promises to heat up in earnest with Tata Motors Ltd scheduled to launch its $2,500 Nano car soon. A venture of India's Bajaj Auto Ltd with Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co plans a similar car, while Hyundai Motor Co and General Motors Corp are also studying an ultra-low-cost vehicle.
The Asahi newspaper said Toyota plans to roll out the $5,000 vehicle in the early part of the 2010s under a new brand separate from Toyota, high-end Lexus, and Scion, which targets younger consumers in the United States. Toyota and Daihatsu declined to comment on the report. Toyota has so far only disclosed plans for what it calls an "entry family car", which is scheduled to be produced in India and Brazil from 2010 and 2011, respectively.
That car is expected to cost around $8,000, although Toyota has not officially mentioned a price. The Asahi said Toyota will likely build the $5,000 car in India, with sales also possible in Brazil. Toyota executives have so far denied any interest in developing an ultra-low-cost car, arguing that selling such a car under the Toyota badge could hurt its brand image.

Sachin Tendulkar breaks Lara's record
Once again it’s cricket. My favorite sports. My favorite cricket start Sachin Tendulkar became the highest scorer in Test cricket. Congratulations to Sachin Tendulkar. He has been playing international cricket to close to two decades.
Sachin Tendulkar became the highest scorer in Test cricket after surpassing West Indian legend Brian Lara Lara in the ongoing second Test in Mohali on Friday.

The Master Blaster needed just 15 runs today to overtake Lara's Test match tally of 11,953 runs and establishing a fourth world record in his illustrious career.
Tendulkar is also on the verge of creating another landmark as he will also be the first player to amass 12000 runs in Test cricket.
The 35-year-old batting maestro is already the world's top-scorer in One-Day International (16,361) and has the most centuries in Test matches (39) and One-dayers (42).

Rupee falls to 49 per dollar at open
Good Morning Friends,
Thursday October 16, 2008. My day starts with Prayer at Dadaji’s hosue. Today we have Mr. Vinodbhai Thaakar as our guest there who runs a Prathana Parivar. He gives us very good discourse on Prayar. It was nice. When I reach at office the very first news I read it Rupee falls sharply.
The rupee fell sharply on Thursday as a slump in overseas share markets triggered concerns of increased capital outflows from the local market.
At 9:00 a.m., the partially convertible rupee was at 49.00/15 per dollar compared with Wednesday's close of 48.525/540. It hit a record low of 49.30 last week.
Traders said Wednesday evening's cut in cash reserve requirements for banks would provide more room for the central bank to intervene to support the rupee.

Big B in hospital, fans worried
I just go some shocking news. I am Big fan of Amitabh Bachchan. I got news that he been hospitalized today with the abdominal pain. Read the following news and also view the pictures.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who tunred 66 on Saturday, was rushed to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai following abdominal pain and then shifted to the Lilavati Hospital after a preliminary medical check up.
The Big B was celebrating his birthday at his residence Pratiksha when he suddenly experienced severe pain, a family source said.
He was rushed to Nanavati Hospital, barely a kilometre from his house in Juhu, around 12.30 pm (local time). Less than an hour later, he was taken to Lilavati Hospital, located around five kilometres away at Bandra Reclamation.
Sources say it is a case of insicional hernia, a repercussion of his earlier surgery, which had to be carried out when he was injured during a shoot.
He is at Lilavati hospital undergoing an endoscopy at the moment doctors has told NDTV that he could be in hospital for up to 20 days.
The entire Bachchan family accompanied him to hospital and he's apparently taken the same room where his mother Teji Bachchan was also kept.
Incisional hernia in simple terms is a result of an incompletely healed surgical wound. It appears as a bulge or protrusion at or near the area of the earlier incision.
In fact virtually any earlier abdominal operation can develop incisional hernia and Bachchan did undergo a surgery of the small intestine in 2005. It is also among the most frustrating and difficult hernias to treat.
The Bachchans are regularly treated at Lilavati Hospital. Many Bollywood stars undergo treatment there and last month Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama was also admitted there.
Amitabh's daughter Shweta, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya accompanied him to the hospital, while Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh who was in the city to take part in the birthday celebrations later visited him at the hospital.
The hospital has been cordoned off by police since they expect a large number of fans to come there. (With Agency inputs)
WISH AND PRAY TO GOD FOR FAST, SPEEDY AND SAFE RECOVERY OF AMITABH BACHCHAN.

Garba enthuses non-resident Gujarati, his bird
It’s Garba time in Ahmedbad, Gujarat too. People are enjoying garba and as ending days are coming closer more and more people are invoving them self to garba.
I found Mr. Manu Patel, a Non Resident Gujarat His story is very very interesting and I like to share with you all my readers. I found that on Time of india website. When your pet shares your passion, life is all song and dance! Non-resident Gujarati Manu Patel comes to the city each year a month beforeManu Patel loves dancing garba, particularly with his friend Chiman Popat, a parrot.
Navratri. He paints the city all colours, dancing away the nine nights with his pet parrot perched on his shoulder. Garba is a passion for the 63-year-old. In fact, he even designs his own traditional wear. Settled in Canada, this gung-ho Gujarati sports a permanent tattoo on his biceps. He has been coming from Toronto for the past 15 years for the festival. Fondly called 'Dadaji', he bags awards each of nights of revelry. "I love dancing garba, particularly with my dear friend Chiman Popat. He accompanies me to all venues and while I dance, he sits on my shoulder and often breaks into sanedo (traditional garba song)," says Patel. He arrives at his house in Maninagar a month in advance to prepare for Navratri. "It takes me at least a month to design and embroider my dresses which make me look a typical Gujarati - be it a sanedo dress or a Rabari one," he says.
The proud Gujarati feels Navratri is a unique tradition that needs to be treasured. Nine days are not enough for him. "The festival should last 18 days. If I listen to a garba, my legs automatically start dancing," says the mesmerised NRG.
This year he has designed four traditional dresses and will start his first nortu (day of Navratri) at Rajpath Club. "I can't recollect how many awards I have received. Last year, I bagged first prize at garbas in Karnavati Club, Rajpath Club and many others. I basically do sheri garba, which I'm very fond of." The passionate Patel ensures he doesn't miss out on Gujarati lifestyle in chilly Canada. Gujarati thalis or richly embroidered bedcovers, he has them all. "I have told my sons that I would like to die in Gujarat doing sheri garba," says this dancer with a difference.

Take a leaf out of Gujarat Govt`s book on SEZs: Chiranjeevi
I was reading news on net and I found following news. South Indian film start and now chief of praja Rajyam party chief Chiranjeevi told his state industried minister that visit Gujarat and see what the state government is doing for promotion of SEZs. This is something I should take proude as Gujarati and Amadavadi too.
Praja Rajyam Party chief Chiranjeevi today joined issue with Andhra Pradesh Major Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy over development of special economic zones (SEZs), suggesting the Congress Government in the state take a cue from Gujarat.
"Let them visit Gujarat and see what the state government there is doing. Gujarat Government is playing the role of a facilitator and not a broker in the promotion of SEZs," the actor-politician said in reaction to Reddy's suggestion that he first visit West Bengal to study the SEZ policy in the Left-ruled state.
In Gujarat, industrialists purchased land directly from farmers for setting up SEZs while the state government only developed the required infrastructure, Chiranjeevi said.
"It's a peculiar situation in Andhra Pradesh where the Government is acting as a broker and acquiring land for rich industrialists at the cost of poor farmers," the actor-turned- politician, who visited affected farmers at Polepalli SEZ in Mahbubnagar district, alleged.
He pointed out the SEZ Act clearly specified that farmers, whose lands were acquired for setting up trade zones, should be made stake-holders in the respective projects.
"The onus is on the government to ensure that affected farmers get their due. It can't acquire land at throwaway prices from farmers and sell it at exorbitant rates to industrialists. It should share the profit thus accrued with the farmers," Chiranjeevi stated.
